Prehistoric Puppets is a new line of very realistic dinosaur puppets produced by Puppetoys, a company founded by veteran Hollywood effects artist Michael Maddi. The line is made up of four different puppets - a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Ceratasaur, and Triceratops: The puppets are designed and sculpted with the same attention to detail usually reserved for film effects, not toys. This video shows the sculpt of the Triceratops puppet:
The Prehistoric Puppets are deliberately made with enough detailed to be convincingly filmed (even in close-up) and used to create videos and special effects. Have a look at them in action:
Michael discusses Prehistoric Puppets in an interview at the recent Toy Fair in New York and gives a sneak peak of future puppets that are planned for the toy line. The first Prehistoric Puppets will be shipping to stores in June. For more information visit www.puppetoys.com.
